Pine Bark is an organic recycled by product of plantation timber 15mm graded pinebark. This mulch is a popular decorative choice for those that prefer a natural brown coloured mulch. Applying Pine Bark will stop the top of the soil drying out, keeping the soil moist, and can greatly reduce the need for watering. Mulching also prevents weeds and weed seed germination, which compete with plants for moisture and nutrients. Mulching also keeps the soil temperature constant, and using an organic mulch means you’re adding extra organic matter to the soil. An advantage of the bark based mulches is they take longer to break down so you don't have to apply them as often. Tip: before mulching add some fertiliser and water in well. All mulches should not be unloaded directly onto driveway or other surfaces without a tarp or similar. Mulches can leak colour, tannins or other substances that may stain surfaces like concrete. One bag covers approximately 1 sq metre at 50mm.
